Special rules for applicants with gap in CV

Question

What does special rules for applicants with gap in CV mean?

Answer

Do you fulfill the requirements for special rules regarding applicants with absence from work, education or formal training? (Gap in CV)

In accordance with §4a of the Regulations of the State employed (Forskrift til lov om statens ansatte mv – in Norwegian) all state enterprises are required to interview at least one applicant who has been absent from work, education or training, provided that the applicant is qualified for the position. In this context, absence from work, education or training refer to applicants who, at the time of application, have been out of work, education or training for at least two years during the last five years.

The absence must be due to drug abuse, imprisonment or illness, including mental illness, or the applicant must have been actively seeking employment during the absence period. If you meet these requirements, you can register for special treatment by clicking “Yes” before submitting the application. This is completely optional. If you register for special treatment this is only linked to the vacancy for which you are currently applying, and not to your resume. Your registration cannot be seen by anyone other than the responsible recruiters to the position you are currently applying for.
